How we check what we publish.
MyMGEV is independent. Accuracy is managed as a process: establish the exact UK vehicle, attach material claims to sources, keep drafts private and record corrections.
1. Vehicle scope
Our current-model navigation contains battery-electric MGs offered on MG Motor UK's current UK range. Petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, discontinued and unconfirmed future vehicles are excluded from that navigation. Each status record has an effective date, supporting primary source and review date.
2. Source hierarchy
- Primary: current MG Motor UK model pages, UK brochures, manuals, recall notices and regulator material.
- Independent: named testing or safety bodies used for the precise result they publish.
- Owner reported: useful signals that remain explicitly labelled and do not override official documentation.
Marketing descriptions are not treated as independent verification. Range and charging figures retain their test-condition context.
3. Claim mapping
Material specifications are recorded as exact claims against the source supporting them. Trim limits, test conditions and real-world caveats stay with the claim. A nearby generic source link is not enough.
4. Publication gates
A draft cannot be released until its vehicle status, sources, unique title and description, canonical URL, heading outline, links, structured data, mobile presentation, accessibility and originality have been reviewed. Saving a draft does not publish it.
5. Owner evidence
When owner reporting is introduced, it will be anonymous and human reviewed. Photos will be optional, stripped of metadata, kept private while pending and never published automatically. Faces, registration plates, VINs, precise locations and personal paperwork are prohibited.
6. Corrections
Send the URL, the exact wording you believe is wrong and a supporting source to hello@mymgev.co.uk. Safety-relevant reports are prioritised. Substantive changes are recorded in the editorial audit trail.
What our labels mean
- Official: supported by a linked primary source.
- Independently checked: supported by a named independent source.
- Owner reported: submitted experience, not independently confirmed.
- Community pattern: multiple independent owner reports meeting a defined category threshold.
- Editorial guidance: cautious practical advice, clearly separated from vehicle specifications.
