The calm-start MG IM6 family handover plan.

Make the car understandable before family routines, charging schedules and unfamiliar assistance settings compete for attention.

Complete these checks before leaving the retailer

  1. Confirm the exact trim, battery and driven wheels shown on the order and vehicle paperwork.
  2. Ask the retailer to demonstrate every supplied access device—including any key fob or key card—and confirm the supplied charging equipment and roadside-assistance details.
  3. Pair the primary phone while parked and test calls, audio and navigation.
  4. Open the software-information screen and keep a dated photograph for your records.
  5. Check tyre pressures against the vehicle label, not a generic internet figure.

Learn the display without distraction

MG describes the IM6 as a pure-electric intelligent SUV. The official brochure specifies an ultra-wide 26.3-inch touchscreen. Explore menus while stationary and change one group of settings at a time so an unwanted result is easier to trace.

Prepare the cabin for family use

  1. Fit child restraints strictly in accordance with the restraint and vehicle instructions.
  2. Check door, window and passenger-airbag settings.
  3. Secure loose charging equipment and heavy objects.
  4. Ask every regular driver to create and test a comfortable position.

Measure useful space, not just litres

The official brochure states a 665-litre boot and a 32-litre front storage compartment. Those figures do not guarantee a particular pushchair, case or charging bag will fit, so test the items that matter to your household.

Run two controlled charging tests

  1. Complete one home or workplace session and one public session.
  2. Compare the charger record with the vehicle display.
  3. Test a schedule only when you can check whether it begins.
  4. Record persistent warnings exactly rather than paraphrasing from memory.

Keep safety evidence in context

Euro NCAP published a 2025 safety assessment for the IM IM6. It is an independent reference; use the handbook and your vehicle's exact specification for operating instructions.
