The distinctions that matter

Keep Trophy and GT separate

The UK Cyberster range distinguishes rear-wheel-drive Trophy from all-wheel-drive GT. They share a battery headline but have different official range and performance references. Do not choose a guide from the car's colour or from a photograph of another roadster.

Write down front and rear tyre details

Record the specification on each axle and the pressure label on the actual car. Sports-car tyre arrangements deserve particular care: a front size, rear size or pressure copied from another grade is not a reliable instruction for your wheels.

Get the correct body-control handbook

Doors, roof and emergency-access instructions must match your Cyberster. A promotional video is not an operating manual. Keep the correct handbook available offline and have the retailer show where the relevant normal-operation and assistance sections are located.

Powered doors: sensors do not replace a clearance check

Before opening a Cyberster door, check the space around it yourself and keep other people clear. The handbook calls its door monitoring an aid, not a guarantee that every obstacle will be detected.

Posts, rails, irregular objects and vegetation can present different detection limits. A door may stop at a small angle or behave differently around an object; that is not proof that there is enough room to continue opening it. The handbook also notes limits on extreme slopes and cautions against tight parking arrangements.

If the door will not operate normally, keep the area clear and use the matching handbook or an MG repairer. Do not repeatedly operate it, force it or borrow manual/emergency-opening instructions from another car. Have the correct normal-operation method demonstrated for your Cyberster.

Checked 1 November 2026 against the official Cyberster handbook, page 71. These are documented limits, not a diagnosis of your door. The original grade-table review date above is unchanged.

Identify it in four checks

  1. Read the order or invoice. Copy the full model and grade, including Standard Range, Long Range, Extended Range or Dual Motor wording. Do not use the paint colour as identification.
  2. Confirm the model year. Ask whether the registration year and factory specification differ. This is especially useful for old stock and used cars.
  3. Match the handbook. Obtain the manual edition for the actual vehicle. Keep the PDF or supplied handbook where you can reach it without a mobile signal.
  4. Record modifications separately. Wheels, tyres and accessories fitted after manufacture may no longer match the brochure. Ask the retailer to resolve a mismatch before relying on a specification.

Only a capacity explicitly labelled “usable” is suitable for a usable-kWh calculator. WLTP and maximum DC values are reference figures, not guaranteed journey distance or charging performance.

When the paperwork is unclear

I cannot find my grade in the selector

Do not choose the closest-looking name. Check whether the car belongs to another generation or market. Keep the full invoice description and ask the retailer for the matching UK specification. The links below still provide general owner support.

Can a photo identify my trim?

It can help a retailer investigate, but it is not conclusive. Wheel swaps and shared body styling can make different grades look alike. The factory specification and actual fitted equipment take priority.

What should I save?

Save the model and grade here if useful. Keep registration/VIN documents, the tyre label and access-device inventory in your own private records. The My Garage button changes only the saved vehicle selection in this browser.

Sources and how to use this guide

This is MyMGEV editorial guidance for MG Cyberster. The grade table retains the published source review dated 2026-09-10; this guide was added on 12 September 2026. It is not a newly certified vehicle specification or a replacement handbook.

Equipment, tyre instructions, battery-care routines and emergency procedures must match the exact car. For a control sequence that is absent here, use the relevant handbook section or ask the supplying retailer to demonstrate it.
